Tom Holt is fundraising for British Red Cross Charity No. 220949

£750
26 hours total; 16 hours peddling; 3 hours sleep; 275kms / 170 miles.
We started our journey in North London at 1 PM on Saturday and rode 6 hours to Newhaven Port. After a rough 3 hour sleep on the overnight ferry we hopped back on our bikes at 3 AM at the port of Dieppe.
We cycled in pitch black (no thanks to Amazon's crumby bike lights that lasted an hour) until the sun came up on the French country side.
The French leg took approximately 12 hours (10 hours of bum in seat). We were caught in a thunder storm 3 hours out of Paris and Tom's gearbox broke with 45 kms to go (stuck in high gears for the better half of 2 hours). We navigated trench foot, mild de-hydration and an eventual repulsion for energy gels (never again). At approximately 4 PM on Sunday we arrived at the Arc de Triomphe for a much needed bière.
We would like to dedicate our ride to aiding the relief of the earthquake and flood disasters in Morocco and Libya by donating to the British Red Cross.
