Help them get started
Your support makes a difference
Aim: BraveMouse is honored to bring new play "too much of water" to ShakeFest at Camden Fringe, running at the Old Red Lion Theatre in August.
THE SHOW
"Are you the people Hamlet has been talking to?" Ophelia asks the audience.
While navigating grief and contemplating life itself, Hamlet gets 1,506 lines as the titular character in his own play. While navigating grief and contemplating life itself, plus enduring gaslighting and assault, Ophelia gets 173 lines as a side character in her ex-boyfriend’s story.
In too much of water, it's Ophelia's turn.
Through calls to Laertes, visions of Hamlet, and, of course, her own soliloquy, this new play explores women's mental health in 1605 and 2025 - how much and, really, how little has changed. It poses the question that maybe, if instead of gaslighting, shaming, and abusing women with mental illness, we were helping, listening, and loving them, there’s a possibility of "to be" in a world full of "not to be."
THE TEAM
Written / Performed / Produced by Brock Looser
Directed / Produced by Avery Looser
Hey y'all, Brock here! What started out as my MFA Thesis at LAMDA has now evolved to this hour-long solo show that marks the stage debut for BraveMouse, internationally recognized films and founded by my sister Avery.
As built-in-best-friends, Ave and I have grown up telling stories together. We believe with BraveMouse that by supporting women, not only in the stories we tell but in how we tell them, we have the power to change the narrative for all.
YOUR SUPPORT
We are deeply grateful for your support. Thanks to initial fundraising through our generous BraveMouse donors, we have been able to secure the theatre, get professional promotional photography, hire a music composer and lighting designer, and begin marketing.
We are seeking donations to close the last gap in our budget, which will cover props, costumes, transportation, videography, rehearsal space, and further our marketing strategy.
THANK YOU
Thank you so much to our BraveMouse donors who have already generously supported us: Claire & Brian McShane, Laura & Tony Visage, Kyle Young & Michael Gierl, Elsa Jean & Don Looser, Wanda Brock, Kelly Lamor Wilson, Bobette Down, Caroline Totz, and our parents Beth & Greg Looser, without whom none of this would be possible.
By supporting this show, you're supporting the mission of BraveMouse: amplifying and empowering all women's voices through women-led narratives and productions.
