We raise mental health awareness, challenge stigma and promote mental wellbeing through music and the arts. We run free workshops, groups and choirs including a ska choir, punk choir, vocals, guitar, bass, creative writing, performance anxiety and peer support groups. In addition, we run pop up stands at music gigs, festivals and events and support the music industry with good mental health.

Tonic Music for Mental Health
Tonic Music for Mental Health is a charity based on the south coast of England.
We raise mental health awareness, challenge stigma and promote mental wellbeing through music and the arts. Tonic was founded in 2012 as a direct response to the lack of creative support for people experiencing mental health difficulties. We run two free programmes of mental health support – Recovery Through Music and Tonic Rider.
The Recovery Through Music programme promotes mental health recovery by providing opportunities for people to participate in music-related activities. The free services include the Tonic Ska Choir and Creative Workshops. Recovery Through Music services provide safe and supportive environments for people to come together, learn new skills, get creative, and make new friends.
The Tonic Ska Choir is an uplifting choir that provides opportunities for singing covers of the biggest ska tunes, while also experiencing the benefits of communal singing. The choir performs at gigs, festivals and events, as well as recording covers in a professional recording studio. The weekly Creative Workshops are for smaller groups of participants, and include Vocals, Guitar and Bass.
The Tonic Rider programme promotes good mental health in the music industry by providing free training and support for music industry professionals.
Many people working in the music industry experience mental health issues. They can be brought on by the highs and the lows, the touring, the late nights, and the lifestyle. The industry can be volatile and competitive, with no financial security. This leaves people vulnerable to developing mental health issues. Tonic Rider addresses this by providing music industry-specific mental health support. Tonic Rider training and support includes a Peer Support Group, Mental Health
First Aid training, Tonic stands at festivals and events, and various other groups, workshops and courses.
