Challenge complete 🏅👏🏻🥾
142.57km (approx 88.6 miles) 31 hrs and 26 mins of walking over 4 days and the Hadrian’s wall challenge is complete 👏🏻👏🏻
Tom is a broken man today but I’m sure completing a bucket list challenge is worth it for every penny and pound raised towards Verus Arthritis. 💚🖤
Looking back to the start of Tom’s diagnosis as a 19 year old lad, jumping through hoops to find a medication that worked well enough to allow him to walk to the end of the street without being in agony, we would never have imagined he would be able to take on a challenge like this! So it is so great to see the progress he has made physically and mentally 🫶🏼 .
Thank you everyone for your support because without it I am sure Tom would have tapped out half way through 🤪💚
Tom has decided to raise money for a charitable cause whilst he takes on the challenge of Hadrians wall. 🥾
The charity Tom has chosen to fundraise for throughout this challenge is VERSUS ARTHRITIS.
As Tom is your typical man and keeps a lot of his private life to himself you may not know that he was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis in early 2020 at the grand old age of 19. For the past 6 years he’s experienced many challenges as a result of this diagnosis and now relies heavily on biomedical medications to function as well as he does on a daily basis.
As a result of this diagnosis Tom had to take a step back when it came to any exercise including his passion for hiking and completing some challenging mountains. With the help of his medication and the research conducted by Versus Arthritis, Tom is now finding his love for outdoor activities again and one of his bucket list adventures is completing Hadrian’s wall which he has scheduled in to complete over a 4 day period from 5th May where he will be experiencing the joys of the British weather 🌧️⛺️
Anything you can contribute towards helping him achieve his target will be massively appreciated and will go directly to supporting VERSUS ARTHRITIS in allowing them to continue supporting people with Arthritis in the UK and supporting world class research and treatments and allowing people like Tom to continue to live with minimal pain and impact🔬
And it may also help him in justifying the amount he has spent on all of the outdoor gear he so desperately NEEDS for this challenge! 👟
