TOE BEANS CAT RESCUE

Meet Geoffrey and Yuva...

At 10 years old Geoffrey and Yuva are considered seniors and we are looking for lovely retirement homes for them. However, both have hyperthyroidism - a condition that can be managed with the right medication, though it requires careful monitoring and frequent blood tests to find the perfect dose. With the right medication it's not life shortening and they could have long, happy lives BUT it's an expense that can put adopters off these lovely chaps.

So today Toe Beans is launching a fundraising campaign so we can support adoptions for Geoffrey and Yuva years into the future.

Yuva's story;

An Indian restaurant had been feeding him and showing him love in whatever ways they could. But when they learned the restaurant was closing down they couldn’t bear the thought of leaving him without help. The moment we met Yuva, it was clear he’d been through so much. His frail body, far too thin for comfort, and the painful eye infection spoke of a life filled with struggles. Yet, despite everything, he greeted us with a quiet gentleness that melted our hearts.

Yuva suffers from a condition called entropion, where his lower eyelashes turn inward, painfully scraping against his delicate eyes. He needs surgery to fix this, and we’re determined to get him the relief he deserves.

Despite his challenges, Yuva’s spirit shines. He might not be the most conventionally handsome at first glance, but there’s something endearing about him that grows on you. Spend a little time with him, and you can’t help fuss over him, his soft demeanour, and the way he leans into your touch, loving the strokes and care he’s been missing for what seems to be a long time. He may not have had the easiest start, but Yuva has so much love to give.

Geoffrey's story;

Geoffrey is a beautiful tabby boy with three legs. When he arrived with us he was unsure but he quickly decided his foster home was lovely and comfortable and now spends his time on the bed or the sofa! He loves a neck scratch and often enjoys it so much he dribbles on his bed!

He loves to see his foster parents and jumps out of his box meowing and rubbing their legs when they are in the room! He can be a bit grumpy and he knows what fuss he wants and what strokes he doesn't. Sometimes he likes a bit of time on his own but then is super vocal when he wants attention, food or strokes.

He takes his meds very well everyday and is a lovely gentle cat. He dribbles when you stroke his neck and taps you if you stop stroking him which is so sweet and he even asks for permission to come up onto the sofa and then my lap.

Can you help?

Both these cats have years ahead of them and could make perfect companions. To make that happen we want to help with the costs of the medication so we can find the perfect homes without cost being a barrier. Can you help Geoffrey and Yuva? Please think about giving £25 for one month of the medication for one cat, £100 for a blood test, £300 for a year of medication or just a small donation of your choice - it all adds up.

Any support you can give will ensure both Geoffrey and Yuva find new families and comfy homes for their twilight years - these lovely cats really deserve that.
