We are dedicated to modernising the way in which our children are learning, engaging with new technology to adapt to their interests while teaching them about the impact of key historical figures in their local area.
What is our show about?
'Toby Timewell', follows our title character who dedicates his time to helping key historical figures. The show is aimed as an educational resource for schools and young children, aged 7-11, to learn about their local history.
This is a decision-based interactive show, allowing the audience to engage with the narrative. In each episode, Toby will receive a call from 2 famous people from history. The audience will then make their first choice, who do they want to help? Toby will then travel to a new UK city to learn more about its history, which will inform the audience to make the right decision on how to advise them to ensure history remains on track.
For example, the pilot episode will be based in Portsmouth, where Toby will receive 2 pleas for help; Who will he choose? Admiral Lord Nelson or Henry VIII? If he were to choose Henry, Toby would then travel to the Mary Rose Museum and Southsea castle, in modern day, to learn how Portsmouth, the Mary Rose and the castle played their parts in building Henry's navy. Together, the audience and Toby will help Henry with building the Mary Rose Fleet, setting the course for Portsmouth to become the navy city it is today.
Why do we need to fundraise?
We are raising money to fund this project, to cover the costs of crew, talent, costuming and set design. Any additional funds raised will be donated to the Mary Rose Trust.
