To create new music based on the melodies of plants and trees

by Rob Townley in Cheltenham, England, United Kingdom

Plants and trees do in fact have their own songs to sing... what if those songs could be recorded and made into prophetic music?

My name is Rob Townley, and I’m a musician and music producer. For a while now I’ve been releasing my own music which is based on soundscapes and atmospheric textures.

I would like to purchase equipment which will enable me to record the electromagnetic signals of plants and trees, and then translate them into musical harmonies, thus recording and creating music that’s been influenced by the plants’ melodies.

This is a fascinating subject, and research has shown that plants and trees do in fact have their own songs to sing.

There have been several recordings of plant music, but I'm aiming to pioneer a new prophetic sound using those plant melodies as a foundation.

Update - I now have interest from The Forestry Commission at Westonbirt Arboretum on recording their plants, and this could hopefully lead to partnering with them to sell the music on their website.

I'm aiming to raise £500 for the equipment - looks like I'll hit that really quickly! So anything above this will be used for additional equipment and software/sounds etc, thank you everyone!
