I am reaching out today with an urgent plea. My small business, that has been serving our community for over 17 years, is at serious risk. The challenges have become overwhelming, and without immediate support, I may be forced to put the shop on the market this spring.
Why I Need Your Help:
Property Insurance and Legal Threats – I have been asked to pay £4,000 property insurance which I had not anticipated. I have been given till Friday 18th April to settle the amount, or I have been threatened with Eviction and legal action. This could result in losing the shop, which is not only my livelihood but also a valuable resource for the local community.
Essential Building Work – The flat above my shop needs urgent renovations so that it can be sublet. This would provide a much-needed additional income stream to help stabilise finances and counteract the decline in shop earnings, which has been impacted by the opening of a nearby supermarket, change in people's shopping habits, rising energy costs and the cost of living. So any money extra money raised after paying nearly £4, 000 insurance, would be used to do the some urgent work on the flat.
Sustaining the Business and Recovering – Like many small businesses, I have struggled with rising costs and reduced footfall. Your support will allow me to stay afloat, make necessary improvements, and work towards a more secure future for my shop.
