Helping Families With Disabilities

The Knights Foundation Lodge is a beautifully accessible lodge in the heart of the New Forest, which has been adapted to cater for the needs of disabled families.  

Families who have children with disabilities, have added pressures with constant daily care that needs to be done, without question.  In a normal situation, many of these families needing extreme care for their child/children, would have additional care support for a few hours per week.  Without this most families would simply NOT be able to cope.  In the current times that we find ourselves in, with Covid-19 part of our lives, this additional support and care is not available to them, due the health risks of these vulnerable children and families.

The Lodge is needed more than ever to be able to provide a welcome break away from everyday life, in a beautiful and luxurious environment that caters for their every need.  With ramps, hoist systems, profiling bed and wet room with adapted shower chair, this rare haven is something that could bring families back together, and give them the weeks holiday that they so need.

All fundraising for the Lodge has now had to stop, with every single event that was planned up until September now having to be cancelled due to this unforeseen virus and unique circumstances.  The Lodge is a commitment that the Knights Foundation whole heartedly took on, knowing many of these vulnerable families in our community and understanding that this is what they desperately need.  With the monthly costs just under £5,000, we desperately need to fundraise to continue our work in providing these much needed breaks for these special families.
