This is a unique and valuable place that will be an inspiring setting for artist residencies and projects, and for visitors. It is an important project which will continue Tim Stead's legacy.

I am very pleased to be donating to the crucial ongoing mantenance of the Streading, which is likely be more difficult to raise funds towards, after all the tremendous efforts raising all the money to purchase The Steading for Scotland and beyond. I knew Tim Stead well, and I have very cherished memories of him and his family in the Steading.

So many fond memories of this wonderful home. Including recently enjoying seeing my children’s wonder as Tim played with them as they explored each new neuk and cranny. So inspiring for the brain. So important to preserve it for future generations around the world to enjoy. So generous of Maggie and the family to share it with all. Exciting and Lovely to get a chance to be part of preserving this wonderful inspiring person’s brain and legacy and all that Tim did manage to give to the world before being lost too soon. Can still shut my eyes and hear the laughter around the table I was privileged to be part of. Xxx

I fell in love with the work of Tim Stead many years ago, when I visited Cafe Gandolfi for the first time. Hopefully one day, I can visit The Steading. Good luck!

A copy of 'Tim Stead: object maker and seed sower. A stylish limited edition book produced for a retrostective exhibition of Tim's work that toured the country.

A very special limited edition of 'Towers'

A copy of 'Towers' - a limited edition book of Tim Stead's poetry and photography. It was published by Tim's wife Maggy after his death when she found a whole treasure trove of his poems and photographs.

You become a Patron. You are given all the other rewards, and in addition we will make a wooden book with your name (or it could be in memory of someone else) engraved onto it. This will sit on our bookshelf of Patrons at The Steading. You also receive an invitation to our opening celebration in late summer or autumn. During covid it takes longer than usual to get the books engraved, but they are happening, and our bookshelf is filling up.
