About Me
I’m Shantel, a nurse, mother, and founder of The Grace Project. After years working in care homes and hospitals, I’ve witnessed something heartbreaking: so many older people are simply existing unseen, unheard, and deeply lonely.
The Grace Project was born from a promise to change that.
We exist to bring joy, connection, and dignity back to older adults through two core services: The Grace Line and Graceful Moments.
Our Mission
To make sure no older person feels forgotten.
We do this through:
1. The Grace Line
A telephone befriending service providing weekly friendship calls to isolated older adults. A familiar voice can be life-changing.
2. Graceful Moments
A wish granting service that brings personal, meaningful experiences to older people, from visiting the seaside to meeting a grandchild for the first time. Small acts, big impact.
Why We’re Raising £50,000

Our Vision
Imagine a world where:
Every older adult receives a weekly call from someone who cares.
No one dies without having one last meaningful moment.
Joy, not isolation, defines our final chapters.
We’re building that world, one voice, one wish, one person at a time.
Who We Are
I’m currently leading The Grace Project with lived and professional experience, backed by volunteers from nursing, social care, and the community. Our team will grow with your support including a part-time coordinator and outreach lead as funding allows.
