Aim: A community gaming & esports hub to learn, play & grow. Helping all kinds of people build skills, confidence & careers through gaming!
Hey, my name is David King and I'm a college lecturer in Esports & an avid technology enjoyer! I've managed esports/hospitality based business in the past, and personally I regularly see the affects of barriers to learning & entry into key jobs, social isolation & the lack of a digital community space to give those not lured into traditional sports or activities, a place to learn & socialize.
We're a small but passionate team driven by a shared belief in the power of gaming and esports to change lives. Though our team is small right now, our vision is big — and we’re committed to building something meaningful with the community, not just for it. As we grow, we aim to integrate local people, young talent, and community voices at every step of the journey.
The Beesports Hub is an inclusive, community-powered gaming and esports centre. Set to be based in Greater Manchester, this space will offer access to high-end gaming PCs, consoles, streaming setups, and retro consoles — but it’s so much more than just a gaming venue. It’s a safe, welcoming environment where people of all ages and backgrounds can connect, learn digital skills, explore careers in gaming, and enjoy tech in a fun, positive way. From NEET support and mental health awareness to workshops in streaming and competitive play, we’re here to bridge digital gaps and break down toxic stereotypes.
We want to create a home for the digitally curious — a hub where underrepresented voices in gaming are celebrated, and where young people can gain real-world skills in a sector they’re passionate about. By removing barriers to entry and creating a supportive environment, we hope to develop the next generation of confident, capable creators and players. We have set up "The Beesports Hub Community Interest Company" after identifying that growing gaming centres struggle within their first year of conception, often resulting in them closing down! Setting up as a community interest company removes the paying of dividends to us owners, and ensures that all profits are reinvested directly back into the centre!
Your support will help us bring the Beesports Hub to life. The money raised will go toward:
Fitting out a physical venue with gaming setups, furniture, and accessibility features
Purchasing essential hardware and software, from consoles and PCs to streaming equipment
Delivering inclusive workshops and sessions, focused on esports, streaming, teamwork, and digital confidence
Hiring local talent and volunteers, ensuring the space is safe, friendly, and community-led
Running outreach events to engage young people, especially those at risk of digital exclusion or isolation
Every pound raised brings us closer to opening the doors and welcoming our community in, and every pound that is made by the business? is kept inside the business.
Gaming is an escape for everyone, sometimes its easier to express yourself in a digitally competitive world and especially those who game on PC, it's a way of passively learning transferable IT skills that can help you in a HEAP of jobs!
Traditional sports are great at enabling young & old people to socialize and keep healthy, however not everyone finds joy in sports that we are typically used to seeing in a towns and cities. Esports, as an industry is out growing music & film combined and now more than ever the UK & Europe will need the workforce of tomorrow in various roles such as Event management, digital creative design, esports production & many more.
As the amount of students with EHCP increases, a job as an educator is finding ways to find new emerging innovative ways to teach, Esports & gaming is a perfect way to learn IT, English and Maths skills whilst indulging in a familiar past time.
