Would you like to be part of a Grade II local theatre?
Do you like the sound of being a creative impresario?
Then please join us in re-creating the glory days of the Theatre Royal, Hyde
and you could be producing, directing, treading the boards or enjoying the spectacle
Theatre Royal Hyde is a beautiful Grade II listed Edwardian Theatre in Tameside. For years now it has suffered neglect but we are delighted to say that we have saved the Theatre from demolition. The work undertaken by the owner is of a high standard and has stopped the decay.
We have a contract to buy the building for the community to use. We have raised £25,000 for the deposit and now need to secure the contract with £90,000. Once we have raised this amount we can raise the rest of the purchase price through grants and donations.
The theatre doesn't look good, yet - but it will. Make no mistake, this is the best ‘true’ theatre in the area - with beautiful Edwardian architecture that must be preserved, AND it will bring economic growth and community benefits to Hyde.
'A stunning building and a magnificent theatre with immense potential to be a real winner'
It is a tall order to raise this amount - by Christmas. Yes Christmas! But with your help we can do it.
This is the target amount needed by Christmas to qualify for a 6 months extension to raise the total purchase price of £250k.
We look forward to all your ideas and suggestions for its use and development through throughout this campaign
The vision is for the building to be re-opened for theatre, film. concerts, weddings, conferences - everything for the community, and to breathe life into the centre of Hyde. We have more details on our plans which we can share with you if you'd like to know more.
We'd love you to join us in buying and developing the theatre. There are some fabulous rewards on offer.
