I was sitting in my garden, watching aircraft fly through the blue skies overhead, creating contrails, when I thought to myself, what adventures could I have if I could get 100,000 people to each donate £1 (or their currency equivalent). Now, I know this may sound quite selfish, especially in the current climate but let me explain. I then went on to think how many adventures could lots of people have if they had a fund to use where 100,000 people had all donated £1.
The aim of this challenge is to raise £100,000 creating a travel fund and yes, I may use it myself to travel and upload videos of trips to Youtube, giving people ideas on countries or cities to visit, different airlines to fly on, which cabins to fly in, which hotels to stay at, and much more. But, and it's a big BUT for me ...... I want this to go on and be bigger than that.
I want the fund to become a little crowdfunder in itself; a place where people can ask for donations to put towards their own travels; a place where money can be donated to individuals who aren't as fortunate as others, so that they can travel, broaden their horizons and see the world. I want to support the people in my local area to experience the world as academic education isn't the only way we learn in life.
I'd love for this to take off (see what I did there) and money start to be raised. The only expectation would be a miminum donation of £1 from each individual (more can be donated if an individual wants to) and because of the way the world is at the moment, I know this may be a slow burner. Time will tell but Let Travel Commence
