Woodland Management - Bagger Wood
You’ll be assisting with some small scale thinning work in one of our woodlands.
Location
- Wed 16 Jul 2025, 10:00am-3:00pm
20 positions available
What you will be doing
We will be selectively removing a small number of trees/vegetation in our woodland to help promote healthier growth. This process improves the overall structure of the woodland by allowing more space and resources for the remaining trees to thrive.
What we are looking for
No prior experience is needed! We’ll provide a hands-on demonstration to show you exactly how to complete the task, so you’ll have all the guidance you need. The only thing we ask is that you bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to make a positive impact. Your energy and excitement are what make these events successful, and together, we can help create a greener, healthier environment for everyone.
What difference this will make
Light thinning helps maintain biodiversity, enhances the growth of stronger, more mature trees, and ensures the long-term health of the woodland ecosystem. It's a crucial task in managing woodlands and supporting conservation efforts.
What to bring
Please bring waterproofs plus wellies or walking boots (no trainers please), and a packed lunch. The ground is particularly muddy & uneven so we may need to turn volunteers away who do not have the right footwear.

We will aim to have a portaloo onsite, but there won't be any other facilities so please ensure you brink your own refreshments.
