Tree Planting - Thompson Wood
You will be helping plant trees with the woodland trust!
Location
- Thu 4 Dec 2025, 10:00am-3:00pm
24 positions available
What you will be doing
Your task will be to plant trees. You will clear the surface of grass around where you are planting a tree and dig a slit large enough for the roots, place your tree into the slit and then close the gap with your boots.
Demonstrations will be given, and staff will be on hand to help. Spades will be provided for everyone.
The trees are all native species to the UK which are best equipped to support wildlife
What we are looking for
No prior tree planting experience is needed! We’ll provide a hands-on demonstration to show you exactly how to plant a tree, so you’ll have all the guidance you need. The only thing we ask is that you bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to make a positive impact. Your energy and excitement are what make these events successful, and together, we can help create a greener, healthier environment for everyone.
What difference this will make
Volunteers play a crucial role in the success of our tree planting efforts, and your contributions have a lasting, positive impact on the environment and the community.
What to bring
Please bring waterproofs plus wellies or walking boots (no trainers please), and a packed lunch. The ground is particularly muddy & uneven so we may need to turn volunteers away who do not have the right footwear.
