I am raising £5000 to build Belfast's newest, and dare I say it, Best escape room!

We're still collecting donations

Belfast's Newest Escape Room

The White Witch of Blackstaff!

1699304455_street_show_fire.jpgMy goal is to make a thoughtful, adventurer-centric escape room that is immersive, unique and most importantly fun. The experience will envelop you within a medievalesque world of witchcraft. All the puzzles and set designs are based on historical magic, but don't worry, I'll only be using the good kind, just in case!

Watch out for the spirit guide sent to help you through this difficult time...

"The Plague is everywhere! Brought up from hell by the Necromancer! You must go to the White Witch who has in her possession the only copy of an ancient book of rituals. This book will destroy the Necromancers power and end the plague..."

You will have one hour to solve all of the puzzles. Will you take the challenge?

A bit of background about me; I have been working in theatre design and performance for nearly 20 years. In 2011 I was diagnosed with arthritis and had to take a step back from circus artistry.
I went back to school to study costume design for stage and screen and got some design experience working in film and TV for two years. At this point I was ready to return to circus as my health was improving. I spent the next two years touring with a street show when the pandemic hit. I could no longer gather a crowd, so I found a job in a small escape room and instantly took to redesigning the props, which my employer was very happy about.

After up-cycling, as it were, an already existing room, I wanted to design and build my own. While I was creating, I managed my boss's business for nearly two years and enjoyed the energy people who play escape rooms brought into my day. A job that attracts nerds like myself is my kinda job. I finished building my first escape room in August this year. It has incorporated design, performance, theatre and all the other skills I have learned along the way. If a venn diagram of my skillset existed, escape rooms would be smack bang in the middle.

The money I raise here will go towards the construction of the room, the materials paint and electronics that it takes to build a room. I will do all the work with the help of the great team at Blackstaff mills to do all the bits I can't and then I'm ready to launch. I have ideas to create effects that I have never heard of any other escape room using, sadly I can't say more than that without spoiling it but there's going to be a little bit of magic in this room!

Why not get your loved one a unique stocking filler this Christmas? the chance to be the first person in Belfast's newest escape room!

Here is some of my work from the last room, no spoilers for the new one! Sadly the nature of escape rooms is that I can't show too much, so here's a sneaky peak...
