THE VOTE follows a brother and sister navigating a dystopian Britain where the nation must vote to allow mass migration of refugees into the UK due to biblical climatic disasters in Western and Central Europe.
'Yes' is to let refugees in.
'No' is to shut borders down... indefinitely.
This film is a reflection of the battle between light and dark, peace and violence. Our characters feel so strongly about their views that it eradicates all common sense and instils a horrifying precedent for mankind.
Despite the dark themes of this film, there is a story here to be told that I believe will enrich and make a difference to the public.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS FILM
The world is changing at a rapid pace. I find it hard to recognise us as the human race. We’ve fallen deeply into a maligned angry state without humanity or decency. My approach is to reflect on how scared we are. How truly lost we’ve become with hatred and panic.
This film encompasses the very essence of this changing tide - climate change and a violent turn in populistic politics in Western nations. I don’t intend to lecture anyone or send some pious message to the audience, but rather start a conversation.
THE PRODUCTION
Our film will be around 17-20 minutes long and filmed in Cornwall on the South West Coast of England. I have a fantastic cast and crew who have spent countless hours working on stressful pre-production needs.
DIRECTORS PLEDGE
As the director, I will endeavour to create a diverse and respectful environment throughout all the film departments.
THANK YOU!
I would be forever grateful for any contribution possible, even the smallest of donations will make a huge difference.
Kind regards,
Harry Twomey and the rest of THE VOTE crew.
