The Charity strives to improve the living and welfare conditions of the animals, in particular dogs, of Sal Cape Verde and to provide education in the care of animals owned by the residents of the island. We also organise our own neutering campaigns and take an active part in those organised by other organisations. Our charity also helps the residents on the island that need help with food and education materiel for the children.

This group was formed in June 2020 to help the forgotten dogs in the kennels and also help to neuter the free roaming dogs on the island of Sal, Cape Verde .
We became the only UK registered Charity operating on the Island on 5th October 2020. Our registered charity number is 1191635.
We are not connected or associated in any way to any other group that are helping the dogs on the island.
The kennel dogs live in the equivalent of a Council Compound. Here they stay until a home is found for them, which on the island is very rare.
There are puppies that were born in there, will they ever find homes? We can only hope and pray for them .
A few months ago the CM employed a new manager for the kennels, Balta Nascimento. This dedicated person is now a trustee of our charity.
Since he has been there he has worked hard to give the dogs a better life. He instigated the building of an outside play area so they may once again feel fresh air on their faces and the wind on their bodies.
They need so much more, so we are going to fundraise to help make this possible for them .
Balta is a wonderful man with a heart of gold and loves the dogs so much but his hands are tied because the finances are not always available. This is where our Charity assist.
We are also neutering the free roaming dogs and are currently raising money to help with the neuter campaign on a larger scale on the Island once this gets underway. We hope this won’t be too far away, more news of this when it happens. The way to help all the stray dogs is to neuter. Get to the source of the problem and prevent it .
Together we can be the ones to help the forgotten souls.
During COVID many of the residents on the islands have suffered with no money due to the lack of tourism. We have raised money, completely separate to our Charity, to help with food parcels, Christmas gifts for the children and food and medical care for their dogs and cats.
