We're still collecting donations

To make beautiful tea towels from my original woodcut blocks - inspired by the Somerset countryside - supporting Refuge with every sale.

Produce additional tea towels to support other carefully selected charities.
Before the start of the pandemic, I had been selling my work in museum shops and galleries as well as taking part in local art and craft markets. Then came the lockdown and many of my revenue streams disappeared.
Inspired by regular walks in the countryside, I decided to do something positive with my time and create something beautiful from the chaos. I chose the buttercup as my inspiration and started creating wood block carvings to print from.
I produced a small batch of limited edition prints which I shared on Instagram. These were popular and I used this as my contribution to a Somerset Art Works collaboration organised called Somerset Reacquainted.
But I also wanted to create something else that I could sell to a wider audience and I started designing a repeating pattern using the buttercup as a symbol of hope for a brighter future. With the blocks now carved and printed in a sky blue and soft grey, I would like to have these printed onto tea towels in the UK.
I would also like to donate a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of every tea towel to Refuge - a charity that supports women and children who are experiencing domestic abuse. The blue tea towel will be the first tea towel produced and a donation from each tea towel sold (including those given as rewards) will be sent to Refuge.
With £250 funding, I would be able to print the first batch of tea towels. If I exceed this target, I would be able to create other designs to extend the range I can offer for sale and support other carefully chosen charities. I hope to sell these online and at local markets when they reopen.
Thank you.
