Support The Story Gathering: Fund Our Next Steps in Storytelling!

At The Story Gathering, we believe in the transformative power of stories to create positive change and deepen community connections. Our mission is to provide inclusive spaces where people can share, listen, and learn from each other through the art of storytelling.

Our passionate team is dedicated to promoting sustainability, community engagement, and creativity. By collaborating with local artists, storytellers, and musicians, we curate enriching experiences that resonate with our audience.

Our Vision

We organize events that blend local organic food, live music, storytelling, and interactive activities inspired by nature and community. These events rejuvenate attendees and inspire them to see the world through new perspectives.

How You Can Help

Fund a Professional Bid Writer for National Lottery Application

We aim to raise £600 to hire a professional bid writer. This expert will help us apply for a £30,000 National Lottery grant, which will significantly enhance our capacity to spread our ethos of storytelling and sustainability to more communities.

Secure Funding for National Heritage Application

We need £400 to pay for a bid writer to support us in applying for a £10,000 National Heritage Fund grant. This will enable us to expand our storytelling projects and ensure they are inclusive and accessible to all community members, regardless of financial means.

Bring "The Story Gathering" to Bristol

Our upcoming event in Bristol this Autumn 2024 is designed to be an unforgettable experience. We need £1,390 to cover costs and ensure fair compensation for our contributors. This event will feature local organic food, live music, storytelling, and interactive activities, all inspired by nature and community.

Past Successes

  • Winchester (Nov 2023): 40 participants, 10 contributors, supporting local organic food producers.
  • Soho, London (April 2024): 35 participants, 15 contributors, aiding a Syrian refugee kitchen and impacting an additional 40 people.
  • Leeds (June 2024): 30 participants, 10 contributors, featuring local filmmakers and international storytellers.

Special Projects

  • Southwark Community Film Project: A weekend project where ten residents created a film processing their pandemic experiences. The film, "Grounded," was screened at the Herne Hill Festival.
  • Outdoor Storytelling for Well-being: Supported by a £10,000 Peabody Fellowship.
  • Nature Reserve Project with Emerging Filmmakers: Funded by £4,000 from Thames Water.
  • Tune In, Co-create with Nature: Funded by Winchester City Council, involving Ukrainian refugees in creative storytelling.
