  • UPDATE -THAT'S A WRAP! 60th birthday fundraising challenge complete!! 60km cycled and 60 double lengths swam for my fundraiser challenge for The Shalom Network in 2 weeks!!
  • Thank you all so much for your generous donations - we are so grateful!
  • The fundraiser will stay active for the next 26 days and because we have reached the target set they have doubled the target to £1000 - wouldn't it be wonderful to reach the £1000 target?
  • Since they've doubled the target for the fundraiser - and because I'm enjoying the cycling and swimming so much - I'm going to double my target to 120km cycling and 120 double lengths swimming so if you haven't donated yet - please do as every bit helps this compassionate, empowering charity to develop and strengthen inclusion for all.
  • Above is a photo of The Shalom Network's Values and these are put into action by their amazing work with people with additional needs of all ages and their families and carers.
  • The Shalom Network, which is a charity I am a trustee of, work with people with additional needs, their families and supporters in the Forest of Dean and beyond.
  • Their work varies from direct support and advocacy for people with additional needs, online and in person group meetings to build community and using different techniques and technology to enable communication for those with complex needs and no speech capability.
  • With continued funding their excellent work can develop and grow beyond their local area to meet the needs of many more people, families and supporters.
  • The funds raised will be put towards developing our advocacy and community building work, developing inclusion and empowering people with additional needs in many different ways such as enabling communication for those without speech and further other projects such as Dementia Awareness and Risk Minimising form people with additional needs.
  • We would really like to upgrade our website to enable easier access for our community and supporters.

The photo at the top is of their recent Activity Day at Viney Hill Adventure Centre and below is me helping facilitate the craft activities on the Activity Day with Tracy and Emily enjoying their art.
