We want to bring you the highest quality live music direct to your home from a different venue in Hull, every week, for nine weeks.

We're still collecting donations

On the 12th August 2020 we'd raised £5,215 with 181 supporters in 24 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

 New stretch target

Every £500 we make gets us one more livestream. £5000 would mean we can do all of our originally planned streams, and it would also mean the world to us.

We can't even begin to express how grateful we are that you're seeing this message. Thank you so much for your support.

The Sesh Live

COVID-19 is something that we are all well aware of. Unfortunately we recently had to succumb to the pressures of the "new normal". It has caused the shut down of two historic, culturally significant and important venues in Hull. As a result, the 'Live From The Polar Bear' livestream that we provided to you, free of charge, is now homeless.

Thankfully the people who worked behind the scenes to make it happen have a lot of spare time on their hands now. And we won't let live music slip quietly away. We've received 30,000 views on our streams thus far; it'd be a crying shame if we gave up now.

What We Plan To Do

Under the stewardship of Mark Page's Sesh Events we wish to continue the livestreams. We're doing this for the love of live music, for the community it brings together and most importantly of all, to support artists during these hard times. We want to continue producing a livestream of the highest quality, and we want to do it a little bit differently this time.

We're planning to take this project on a tour of Hull's music venues. Big and small. Old and new. We want to bring everyone together, to highlight not only what we risk losing, but also what we're still so lucky to have. The Adelphi and The Warren are both places you are likely see us at soon.

The music scene in Hull has always punched well above its weight. We're full of talented musicians, passionate promoters and event organisers; as well as the beautiful fans who, rain or shine, have supported venues and the artists they book. We are all beginning to realise just how perilous the situation is for live music venues across the city, and across the country. We really don't want to lose anymore venues.

So for nine weeks, we plan to bring you two acts from a different venue in Hull each time. We want to add more content, include Q&A sessions, host interviews where you yourself can ask the questions and continue to showcase the talented people across the region.

What We're Asking

So we're asking you for your help once again. We are as busy as ever working behind the scenes to pull this off, but we can't do so without your support.

We've worked out that the cost of producing these streams is roughly £500 per event; this amount means we can pay the musicians who perform for us, the staff who help to make this happen, and all the hire costs for the technical equipment that goes into this. We want to carry this on for at least as long as we originally intended to - which is a further nine weeks.

Every £500 we raised will get us one more week of high quality, live music streamed straight to you; the money goes straight back into the production. Anything extra we receive from you will go towards the artists, and to the community.

We already have the passion, and the drive to do this. Even without your support, you'll still probably catch the stream being sent out from one of our bedrooms. But it won't be what the people of Hull really deserve. It won't be what the artists deserve either.

In Summary

This is, without a doubt a tragic story. But we have some of the most talented people in the region behind this project, and we all believe we can turn this tragic tale of closed venues and empty stages into one of Hull's crowning musical achievements.

And what's more fitting than a bunch of people from Hull (and Torquay!) flat out refusing to stop doing what they love?

Rewards

This project offered rewards

£5 or more

Rider Beers

What better way to show the love than buying the artists some beers to sip on in between songs?

£10 or more

Q&A Session

Got a niggling question? Want to know how to book shows? Or alternatively do you want the old manager of Polar Bear's secret malt cheesecake recipe? For a couple of quid you can corner us for a half hour over the phone or internet. Facetime obviously depends on what time of day it is.

£10 or more

Get a Shout Out

We're taking it back old school. Donate this amount and we'll display a message written by you at the bottom of the screen. It could be educational, personal or quite possibly filled with expletives. Think of it as a late night gambling show, only no one is getting conned and you're not texting a premium number registered in the Bahamas.

£20 or more

Go Dutch

Wanna go Dutch? We split your donation half and half. Fifty percent to the venue that week, fifty percent to the stream.

£50 or more

Feature In Our Short Films

We'll be producing short films relating to how music lovers have dealt with lock-down. If you want to help us out by funding the stream and you want to have your opinion heard by tens of thousands of people, this is the option for you.

£50 or more

Literally Pay For The Artists

If you want to cut out the middleman we can do that, or even if theirs someone coming up on our lineup that you really love; donate this amount and cover their fee. We'll let them know who you are, and we'll try and wrangle some mementos from the stream for you (like a set list, or even some signed goodies).
