The "Rogerstone Community Band" as we are now known, is an organisation made up of a network of players from other local brass bands who come together once a week to enjoy the art of playing concert music and entertaining the public. Some of the members are players who are not interested in competition anymore but still wish to play. The Band performs concerts locally, nationally and internationally. Any income raised from certain concerts is used to support the charity organisation and its band room. We also raise money to allocate to our Junior section to purchase instruments and teach them the art of playing a brass instrument. We also perform concerts in support of other charity organisations, locally and nationally.

The "Rogerstone Community Band" as we are now known, is an organisation made up of a network of amateur players from other local brass bands and individual players who come together once a week to enjoy the art of playing music with the aim of entertaining the public in concerts throughout the year. Some of its members are players who are not interested in competition anymore but still wish to play. The Band performs concerts locally, nationally and sometimes internationally.
Any income raised from certain concert performances is used to support the charity organisation with instrument maintenance, insurance, paying conductor fees and of course the upkeep of the band room. We allocate money to our Junior section to help purchase instruments and music to teach them the art of playing a brass instrument. Which will hopefully sustain the future of the organisation for years to come. We also perform concerts in support of other charity organisations locally and nationally.
The last 2 years has been extremely difficult for the band with no financial support whatsoever and no offers of grants from local or national government being received. We can already see that opportunities to raise funds in 2022 are going to be extremely difficult and with the current financial situation with many companies and event organisers we don't envisage much change for the next couple of years. Over the last few years we have lost certain instruments due to age and damage and we are desperate to get these replaced as soon as it is financially viable.
We are asking for your support to keep this wonderful charity and organisation alive. The original Rogerstone Band was formed in 1948 and the current trustees, committee and players do not want 2022 to be our last. "2023" will be our 75th anniversary and we hope and pray not only to reach that but build the charity and organisation to survive another 75 years.
