The Polurrian Cove Beach House Trust are pleased to confirm that works have started to restore the former lifeguard hut at Polurrian Beach.
The standalone charity was formed in 2023 and consists of representatives from Mullion Surf Life Saving Club, Friends of Polurrian Beach, Hotel Polurrian and neighbours, with the aim to returning toilet and shower facilities for locals and visitors as well as providing a more adequate location from which the RNLI will operate and where the Mullion SLSC will be based.
The building was purchased in April from Cornwall Council, for whom we are grateful for their assistance in allowing us to be able to undertake this exciting project on behalf of the residents of Mullion.
In order to reach the intended deadline of Summer 2025, work has started, in haste, to the foundations and sea wall. The New Year will see the reconfiguration and restoration of the internal structure.
