We need your help to support us in bringing our bold and bonkers play, 'The Players of Diadon', to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2025!

by Hideout Theatre in London, Greater London, United Kingdom

Who are we?

Hideout Theatre was founded in 2021 by eight graduating actors, emerging at a time of widespread creative and social limitation. This inspired their commitment to push against constraints, creating ambitious and expansive stories that sought to restore the vibrancy of the theatre landscape.

Stoke The Embers is a not-for-profit theatre company specialising in new writing and live events. Through a mixture of development and performance opportunities, Stoke strives to champion the creative potential of artists from all walks of life and levels of experience. Founded in 2023, Stoke programming has become home to scratch events, workshops, and industry panels.

What about the show?

The Players of Diadon follows Rick, the newest member to the royal acting troupe - forever destined to perform King Diadon’s own epic story back to him. For eighteen-thousand-three-hundred-and-thirty-seven performances, nothing has changed. But now? The king wants a brand-new masterpiece - and if he doesn’t get it, they’ll face the chop.

As the troupe scrambles to meet his impossible standards, chaos erupts and egos clash. And Rick, in over his head, begins to uncover unsettling truths about the kingdom and it's ruler - forcing him to question everything he thought he knew.

If you’re serious about being unserious, witness this “hell of a cast in a hilarious, historical farce” (Everything Theatre). The privilege will be entirely yours. Expect silliness, peril, and a world of eccentric characters that feels both bizarre and strangely familiar. “It’ll make you laugh, it’ll make you cry,” (London Pub Theatres) - so come while away an hour with them. Survival not guaranteed.

Why do we need your help?

We truly believe in this play and want to share it with Edinburgh audiences. But, taking a play to the Fringe is expensive- especially as a large ensemble cast, but we don't want that to stop us. That is why we are asking for your support. Your donations will go directly towards covering things like travel, accommodation, costume and oh so many flyers! We are wholeheartedly thankful for any donation we receive as it helps us take this bonkers and bold play to the Gilded Balloon Ed Fringe 2025!

The Players of Diadon would also like to extend their eternal gratitude; check out the Rewards for some unforgettable & irreplaceable tokens of their thanks....
