The Outsiders Honesty Box

Aim: Let's make The Outsiders official! We've been running since January 2024 and it's time to put some structure in place.

The Outsiders began in January 2024. Frustrated, lonely and staring  blankly at her screen, freelancer, Katie Paterson had a lightbulb moment. 

Why (when she loves the outdoors) was time outdoors only for the weekend?

And how could she use this as an opportunity to make some new freelance friends?

Since the first meeting of a group of 5 on a cold Friday in January 2024, The Outsiders has grown to a community of hundreds of Edinburgh-based freelancers and solopreneurs. 

Monthly Excursions now regularly attract 30-40 people and we have over 400 people on our mailing list who want to be kept updated. 

The group is a source of joy for many, but we've reached a point where there are costs associated with the group. 

We'd like to raise some money to cover those costs, and contribute to future activities of the group. 

The money will spend on essential infrastructure, including group insurance, website hosting fees, and subsidising some of our special events.
