The aim of the Cooking project is to provide a few FREE meals each week to those in our communities who are struggling. with 100% discretion

by Julie Potter in Tintagel, England, United Kingdom

My Name is Julie & I started providing a few extra meals for the community a year ago when our cooking club started, then in November 2020 as we were heading into another lock down I stepped up my game and turned my attentions to providing around 100 meals a week supporting around 50 people in our local communities. We are now in the middle of another lock down and are now providing 350+ meals a week minimum & supporting over 140 people a week. Every week we are able to help a few more. People out of work, the elderly living alone, those recovering from illness, family’s and so many more. It cost approximately £140 per week for food item to do this and £100 per month for containers etc, although as we come out of lock down there will be effects long term and i plan to continue with this project as well as providing cooking clubs to help people batch cook and make money go further.   I have a great team around me pealing, chopping, portioning a delivering the meals. At present we are a small Family team of 4 in order to stay safe and keep our recipients safe. We are currently providing meals for residents of

Tintagel, Trethevy, Boscastle, Camelford, Delabole, StTeath, Davidstow, Slaughter bridge, and all in between, if you are in need of help or knows someone who is please please get in touch you are not alone xx
