The National HIV Story Trust is about filming, recording and preserving the history of those affected by the AIDS epidemic of the 1980s and 90s.

The National HIV Story Trust

The National HIV Story Trust (NHST)’s mission is to make sure that the voices of those who lived through the AIDS epidemic are never lost, and that the lessons learnt in those dark times are never forgotten. The tragedies of the past must never be allowed to be repeated.

The people who lived through the crisis are getting older - and not just the survivors or those who lost loved ones; healthcare practitioners, opinion leaders, politicians and the researchers who all played a part. We aim to capture the voices of all people involved, forever. There is no extensive resource that covers the experiences of those who lived through it. Young people do not know enough about what happened, and this will only get worse in the future. The lessons of the past could be lost.

Your support will help us preserve this history and make it accessible to everyone via an archive, various education routes, on-line databases, books/podcasts and many more channels as we continue to find ways to use these important materials.
