We're still collecting donations

On the 26th May 2020 we'd raised £127 with 12 supporters in 35 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

The Missing Patch

The Missing Patch was developed by a team of creative organisations and freelance artists based in Mossley, Tameside.

We have dedicated our lives to creating work to engage communities through Carnival, outdoor events and participatory workshops. Even in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, we want to make sure that our local community has the opportunity to access creative activities and the opportunity to contribute to a combined public piece of participatory arts as our track record proves to us how therapeutic and community-building participatory arts can be.

After many video meetings, hundreds of emails, generous supporters and lots of creativity, The Missing Patch was born. (www.themissingpatch.org)

The Missing Patch is a distance learning project that helps families, individuals and artists to come together to connect, and to contribute to a shared piece of public art. We use creative activity as a vehicle to increase people’s mental and physical wellbeing, connect with others in the face of a national lock-down and forced social isolation, and offer a creative shared experience to look forward to when this is all over. This will help to strengthen our communities and bring together households with a shared vision of creating beauty as we begin to rebuild after this global disaster.

We have a limited budget available to offer these experiences to members of our community. Every batik kit we send, all the illustrations in the story book, the web development, project videos and tutorials have been lovingly created by a team of freelance artists who have all but lost their summer income.

We would like to support these artists in this time of crisis and of course provide as many routes for creative opportunities as possible for our local community. Each batik pack costs £5 to produce and post out, and with every donation, we are closer to sending out more creative activity packs to bring joy and relief to members of our community.

We ask project owners to honour their rewards wherever possible but please note that all pledges are donations and there is no guarantee that you will receive any rewards from the project owner. Please see Crowdfunder's Terms of Use for more information regarding rewards for pledges.
