The Kinyan Community is a vibrant centre dedicated to supporting the Jewish Community of Greater Manchester. Open daily, we offer a diverse range of activities catering to various age groups. These include engaging workshops on both educational and enjoyable topics, as well as our popular 'Lunch and Learn' sessions, which combine a shared meal with enriching discussions.
One of our standout features is our Writers Club, where members collaborate to create a pamphlet that is distributed at our quarterly dinner parties. These events not only showcase the creative talents within our community but also serve as wonderful social gatherings.
The Kinyan Community is particularly vital during the current cost-of-living crisis as users can benefit from being in a warm room which saves on home utilities. They can have a hot drink and refreshments which is greatly appreciated.
Our programs foster social interaction, which in turn creates lasting friendships and strengthens bonds between generations. By providing a welcoming space for learning, creativity, and connection, we help to alleviate isolation and build a more cohesive and supportive community.
Our vision is to expand our reach, ensuring that no one in the community feels isolated and that everyone receives the support they need. We aim to develop new initiatives that address specific issues that arise.
We are currently developing a project called "Down Memory Lane," which brings the elderly and teens together for meaningful weekly activities.
We plan to spend this funding on the following:
Printing the booklets produced by our Writers Club. These are created bimonthly and the costs involve typing, proofreading and printing.
Our popular workshops and dinner parties.
Nutritious refreshments
