Help Us Fund Research & Support for Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC)

1 in women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, yet fewer than 2% of all breast cancers are inflammatory breast cancer (IBC).

Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) is a rare, aggressive form of breast cancer that is frequently misdiagnosed, leading to devastating delays in treatment. IBC disproportionately affects younger patients and those from minoritised communities. Unlike other breast cancers, IBC doesn’t always present with a lump. Instead, symptoms can include redness and discolouration that may be more difficult to detect on darker skin tones, swelling of one breast and skin changes - often mistaken for an infection.

By the time most patients receive a diagnosis, the cancer has already spread.

At The Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK, we are dedicated to raising awareness, funding vital research and supporting those affected by IBC.

Our mission is to:

🔬 Fund research into better treatments and outcomes for IBC patients.
📢 Raise awareness among the public and healthcare professionals to improve early diagnosis.
🧡 Provide support to those affected by IBC, ensuring they don’t face this battle alone.1738786475_1738786474608.png

Our Support Service provides advocacy to IBC patients, ensuring they push for the International Standard of Care in inflammatory breast cancer treatment. We enable users to make informed choices about their care and we support them throughout their treatment and beyond.

This support is provided voluntarily and free of charge to IBC patients, their medical professionals and caregivers.

Why Your Help Matters

IBC is under-researched and underfunded. Survival rates haven’t improved in decades and we urgently need to change that. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to improving diagnosis, treatment and survival rates for IBC patients.

How Your Donations Will Help

✅ Support research at leading UK institutions to improve treatment options.
✅ Develop educational resources for GPs and breast care teams.
✅ Provide direct support and advocacy for patients navigating an IBC diagnosis.

Please donate and share to help us make a difference. Together, we can change the outcome for IBC patients in the UK.

Your support could help save lives.
