Project by Argyle Community Trust

Help us to raise £30,000 and join us in transforming Brickfields into a beacon of health & community.

Argyle Community Trust is a sport-for change charity, and the official charity of Plymouth Argyle FC. Our mission, simply, is to improve the lives of local people who are facing disadvantage and hardship.

At the heart of Plymouth, in Stonehouse, we have a vision to transform Brickfields into a thriving Community Wellbeing Hub that will serve as a cornerstone for local health, wellbeing, and social connection. We’re launching this crowdfunding campaign to invite you to be part of this journey—together, we can reduce health inequalities, promote community wellbeing, and make a lasting impact on the lives of the local people of Devonport, Stonehouse and beyond.

There are some compelling statistics that shine a light on the Devonport area that make us aware of how needed this development is. For example, we know that over 40% of over 65's in the area live alone. We also know that over a quarter of children in the area have access to free school meals. The Hub at Faulston Park aims to support these local people and improve their life chances, however we can.

Every pound raised through this project for the Brickfields Wellbeing Hub will go toward enriching the lives of local people, giving them the tools, support, and opportunities needed to build a healthier and improved life, with a focus on health, accessibility and community development.

In order to maximise our social impact, the funds raised will launch and sustain our community programs that focus on improving the physical health, mental wellness, youth development and lifelong learning of our participants. Examples of this will be mental health support groups, nutrition/healthy eating programmes, sports/movement projects and life-skill building workshops, as well as using our Youth Zone to engage with local children and young people and ensure they are taught valuable life lessons.

Our Vision for Brickfields: A Wellbeing Hub for All

Everyone, regardless of age, background, or ability, deserves the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life. Brickfields will help us to achieve this by becoming a hub for everyone. This transformation will turn an underused space into a dynamic and inclusive centre that supports physical and mental wellbeing through sport, education and community connection.

Our new Brickfields Wellbeing Hub will offer:

- Access to high-quality sports facilities to encourage physical activity, fitness, and sports development for all skill levels and ages.

- A wide range of wellbeing programs designed to address specific community needs, from mental health support to anti social behaviour and veteran support.

- Community and learning spaces where people can connect, learn new skills, volunteer, and find a sense of community.

- Inclusive and accessible equipment and support, so that no matter your level of ability, Brickfields will be a place where you feel welcome and supported.
