A Revival of Purpose, Place, and Hospitality

Over four unforgettable years, we transformed a neglected 15th-century inn in the Yorkshire Dales into a celebrated boutique hotel and restaurant. It became known for its warmth, charm, and exceptional service—welcoming thousands of loyal guests and thriving even post-lockdown, with a 90% occupancy rate and over 4,500 glowing reviews.

But like many independent businesses, we were hit hard by the post-pandemic shift. Rising rents and a broader dip in trade made staying in that location unsustainable. Rather than compromise our values, we stepped away—choosing integrity over uncertainty.

Now, we’re beginning a new chapter: one rooted in permanence and purpose. We're acquiring a space of our own—no more leases, no landlords. A place where timeless hospitality can flourish without external limits.

That space is Blagrave, a remarkable 17th-century building with over 400 years of history. Once a beloved inn, it hasn't been open for a while. Nestled between the iconic Bowes Museum and a nearby castle, Blagrave is perfectly positioned to become a local landmark and visitor destination once again.

Our vision is to restore Blagrave to its roots: a welcoming restaurant steeped in heritage and charm. The upstairs will offer a refined, intimate dining space. Downstairs, we’ll revive the cellar as a medieval tavern—rich in character, storytelling, and atmosphere.

This is more than reopening doors. It’s about creating a layered, lasting experience—designed with care, passion, and precision. A place where architecture, history, food, and community come together to tell a new story—one that honours the past while building a sustainable future.
