Aim: Bringing a bold & culturally rich culinary experience to gluten free foods because everyone deserves flavour, not just a dietary label.
My name is Elizabeth Araromi, and I'm working on a gluten free business (official name to be released post campaign), inspired by my journey after being diagnosed with a rare condition called food dependent exercise induced anaphylaxis.
For years, I was rushed to the hospital after nearly every meal, experiencing multiple anaphylactic shocks and even temporary blindness before I was finally diagnosed by an immunologist, and began living gluten free.
However, living gluten free shouldn’t mean living without culture, flavour, or spontaneity. Too often, gluten free individuals like myself are excluded from the culinary experiences their peers enjoy - especially in social settings.
As a Nigerian, Irish born woman, I quickly realised how inaccessible ethnic food options were in the gluten free supermarket aisles. While standard alternatives like bread, cereal, and pasta typically filled the "free-from" sections, these options, whilst essential, were often lower in quality, overly processed, and lacking in diversity. They did not reflect the true richness of world cuisines, and almost felt like a bakery. The gluten free palate felt restrictive and felt disconnected from the immersive culinary experience gluten free individuals also deserve to enjoy, whilst being safe and gut friendly.
So, I started this crowdfunding project to pre-fund my gluten free business, aimed at solving a simple but urgent problem: making gluten free food delicious, culturally rich and accessible.
This isn’t just about products, it is about a lifestyle. We’re bringing global flavours to gluten free shelves. From ready to eat empanadas to Jamaican patties, our goal is to create food that everyone wants to eat, not just people with dietary restrictions.
I'm currently leading this as a solo founder, combining lived experience with a strong scientific foundation, supported by degrees in biomedical sciences and medicine, along with industry experience in pharmaceuticals. Now I need your support to bring this vision to life.
