Ever wondered what really goes on in the girls' bathroom? Why do women always go in groups? The Girls' Bathroom is a female-led comedic short film that dives into the hilarity, chaos, and unspoken sisterhood of public bathrooms on a night out. It’s a celebration of girlhood, unexpected bonds, and the hilarious, heartwarming support women show—even in the midst of drunken mayhem.
On a wild night out, Lauren and Alisha find their friendship on the line when a tampon disaster leaves them in a panic—and trapped in a club bathroom with a group of clueless, drunken and berserk women. Chaos, awkward truths, and unexpected revelations ensue in this hilarious, high-stakes bathroom showdown.

Writer/ Director of The Girls Bathroom. Nnenna Kumenda is a Film Production and Theatre graduate from Brunel University. During her time there, she wrote and directed films while also training in acting at Identity Drama School, gaining experience in both Film and Theatre. She worked alongside Joe Lycett on his 2023 short film Linda and is a National Youth Theatre Young Writers alumna, where she was mentored by leading theatre practitioners and writers. A BFI Film Academy alumna, Nnenna is passionate about storytelling and aspires to write and direct across both theatre and film.
Producer of The Girls Bathroom Muna Liban is an Actor, Writer and Director based in Birmingham who is passionate about telling stories that platform diverse voices and communities. A writer of many years, 2025 is the year she puts her work out into the world. As of March, she has written, directed and starred in her first short film, ‘Mis-connection’. She has also acted as Script Editor and 1st Assistant Director on a production by BFF (Birmingham Female Filmmakers), 'Blend'n', that is set to premiere at the Mockingbird Cinema at a date TBC. ‘The Girls Bathroom’ will be her third short film where she’ll be acting as Producer and as a part of the main cast.
1st Assistant Director of The Girls Bathroom Anoukh Deau is an aspiring filmmaker with a passion for bringing stories to life on screen. She thrives in fast-paced environments and is very attentive and dedicated to learning the craft. She is currently studying for her A-levels, including Film Studies, and is eager to grow in the film industry.
DOP of The Girls Bathroom Leon Lwanga is a BOA Stage & Screen Production Academy alumni who has a lot of passion for both the creative and technical aspects of photography and cinematography. This year, he has gotten a place on Screenskills' Trainee Finder programme where he will receive training and experience on film and TV productions in the DIT/Video Assist department.
1st Assistant Camera of The Girls Bathroom Tyler Bartlam has being working in the Media industry for the last year 3 years. With his most notable credits being the Commonwealth Games and the 20th Series of the Great British Menu.
2nd Assistant Camera of The Girls Bathroom Ethan Marshall is a first class Film and TV graduate from Staffordshire university, his passions are cameras, cinematography, and travel. He aspires to become a D.O.P. He has worked on a festival award winning short film as an assistant editor and many student films. He is also an Adobe certified professional with qualifications in Premiere pro, Photoshop, and After Effects.
Iqra - Editor and BTS Stills on The Girls bathroom
Iqra is a Graphic Design graduate from Coventry university. Her passions in design are branding, illustration, packaging and product. She also has video editing, animation and photography experience. Iqra would like to further progress and develop her skills more in video editing, production and photography. She has worked on branding projects for popular companies such as ASOS, JKR (Jones Knowles Ritchie), Nike, YSL, Just Water, Pact Coffee and more. Iqra is also proficient in the Adobe creative suite in softwares such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, Premiere pro and After Effects. She also has a good knowledge of Final cut pro, Canva, Wix, WordPress, MailChimp and Figma.
Jordan - Editor and BTS Stills on The Girls Bathroom
Jordan is multi-disciplinary designer who holds a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Communication and has a passion for branding, advertising, illustration and editorial design. He is proficient in Adobe creative suite softwares such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Through this project he wants to explore and gain more confidence within editing softwares such as Premiere Pro.
The film will be shot across two days and we have now secured a free location in Digbeth.
The money raised will go towards props, hair and makeup, travel expenses and feeding both cast and crew. Any donation no matter how big or small will help us in delivering a great production that features Birmingham's talent!
We secured a free rehearsal space this week where the cast worked out scenes and further developed the script. We are so excited to film this project - the comedy, the chemistry, the downright talent is exceptional!
