We're still collecting donations
On the 14th October 2022 we'd raised £1,100 with 11 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Our 'Every Acorn' Project aims to engage young people with the great outdoors, improving their view of the world and their lives.

On the 14th October 2022 we'd raised £1,100 with 11 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We’re taking part in the National Emergencies Trust Local Action Fund. Donations to our project will be matched by the fund up to the value of £250 per donation to help us overcome the effects of the pandemic.
Please note only one donation per supporter will be matched by the National Emergencies Trust Local Action Fund.
The 'Every Acorn' project is named because as inside every Acorn there is a mighty Oak tree, we believe inside every young person there is a mighty Human being, and as with Oaks, all some people need are the right conditions to flourish and grow.
Who are we?
We are Let's Get Out C.I.C a not for profit Community Interest Company, and our company aim is 'to engage as many people possible with the Great Outdoors, no matter what their background'.
We have use of a private woodland in Essex which we use for our Forest Schools, Bushcraft sessions and wellbeing sessions. We are also an approved activity provider for the Duke of Edinburgh award expedition section.
The 'Every Acorn' Project
Our aim for the 'Every Acorn' Project is to run various sessions throughout the year to help young people, who for one reason or another cannot access outdoor activities, or who will receive huge benefits in their life through spending some time outdoors.
This project will offer different programs depending on the individuals and their requirements, it may be taking part in a long term Forest School program, a package of Bushcraft sessions to help connect with people and nature, or taking on the challenge of completing their Duke of Edinburgh award. All of these activities have fantastic outcomes for all those involved, building confidence, resilience, friendships, communication skills, improving physical and mental wellbeing, and environmental awareness to name just a few.
The benefits to young people getting involved in the above activities are well documented, and we have seen fantastic results with young people who have gone through activities run by us at Let's Get Out C.I.C over the last couple of years.
Equipment
At the time of writing this, just two days ago we were broken into at our site and all our metal items were stolen from our woodland during a closed period, including hand tools such as spades, shovels, axes, wheelbarrows etc. So we are also in the process of replenishing our equipment, improving site security and looking at strong storage solutions to help us in the future. Some of the funds raised may go towards helping us with equipment to run the project.
Can you help us?
It would be great to get your support with our project and if you can pledge towards our crowdfunder that would be fantastic, it would also be a great help if you could share our project across you social media channels and networks to help us reach more people and get the word out further about the 'Every Acorn' Project.
We are hoping this project will fund a full years Forest School program for 6 young people, a Bushcraft program for 6 young people and a Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition for 5 young people. If we reach our stretch target we will be able to double the numbers.
After all young people have gone through over the previous few years, Covid-19, school closures, loss of green spaces and now the cost of living crisis, we feel we all really need to rally round and help this generation have that basic right of spending time outdoors, learning about the world around them and simply being young.
Many thanks,
The Let's Get Out C.I.C team and all our past, present and future participants.
