Aim: I am raising money for a charitable cause that is very important to me so please donate and help me reach my target
Are you ready to watch me HILARIOUSLY BUTCHER MY HAIR FOR CHARITY? Come and watch me hack at three years' growth of hair for a cause!
Several years ago, my mother was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Thanks to the efforts of the NHS Treliske Hospital staff, and the Royal Cornwall Hospitals charity which provides support for staff and patients, I still have a mother-- and she's officially cancer free.
My mother recalled to me that the first time she had to undergo chemotherapy, she was terribly sick. I remember that day when we picked her from the hospital. She was confused, ill, upset, and exhausted, but she was unfailingly brave in the face of her cancer and the horrible treatment that saved her life. She told me later that during the treatment, one of the nurses had put her hand over my mother's, and told her that things were going to be better. She said that the comfort it brought her helped her face her treatment with dignity.
When I told my mother that I wanted to do something to honour her strength and courage, she picked the Headlands unit as supported by the Royal Cornwall Hospitals fund as her charity of choice.
NEW AND IMPROVED! Now with every donation made to the Headlands unit, I will match that amount in a donation to the ACLU, who are helping to provide legal advice and fund legal costs for BLM protesters arrested during the demonstrations! Nobody is equal until everyone is equal!
