On the 25th May 2022 we'd raised £1,351 with 30 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
The extra donations will allow us to continue our work with Emmaus and other organisations beyond this project mening that more individuals in need can be reached.
The Arts Seen is working with Emmaus Hertfordshire and we desperately need you help to raise £1,000. Please donate and help us to provide the support, mentoring and equpiment needed to allow the companions at Emmaus to produce a photo book showing the Emmaus journey.
Homelessness in Hertfordshire is an ongoing problem and one of the main challenges is helping those who suffered from being homeless rebuild their lives.
Many people have heard of Emmaus, however, they don't understand that it is more than a furniture or charity shop. To the companions Emmaus is so much more.
Emmaus supports people to work their way out of homelessness, providing meaningful work, training, support and a stable home for as long as someone needs it. The support staff, and community, are there to help each other from the moment they enter the community to the time the companion is ready to move on and start their new life.
By using photography The Arts Seen works with other organisations like Emmaus to create and enable bespoke projects to support the organisations and enhance the lives of their users.
Working with Emmaus we will enable the companions to create images that show what life is like living in the community. Through the project the companions will learn new life skills, working as a team and gaining confidence, as they manage the project from the initial idea to printed book.
With the support of The Arts Seen the companions will guide everything from the initial planning, taking the photographs, sourcing a supplier for the printing, creating the books and organising how the book will be sold.
Profits from the sales of the book will then go towards funding the work that Emmaus do.
To achieve this though we need your help to raise £1,000 which will be used to provide equipment that the companions can use, cover initial printing costs, and help pay towards the coaching and support for the project.
As a thank you for your generosity for each donation over £10 you will receive a copy of the book that is produced so you can see the work you helped the companions achieve.
Thank you so much for your support. The Arts Seen is a small Community Interest Company with big ambitions. Your help really is appreciated as it not only improves the lives of those that we support but also encourages us to continue the work that we do.
