A not-for-profit organisation founded in 2017, TDFC is dedicated to breaking down barriers and proving that diabetes doesn’t have to sideline anyone’s love for the beautiful game. Through its work, TDFC empowers players and fans to navigate the challenges of type 1 diabetes while participating in sport. From practical tips on managing blood glucose levels during games to the camaraderie of shared experiences, the community demonstrates that with the right knowledge and support, people living with diabetes can thrive on and off the pitch.
Alongside supporting people living with type 1 diabetes, TDFC supports families impacted by the condition with a network for parents and children with various community activations, football/futsal teams, events and workshops.
TDFC was created by Chris Bright, who has lived with type 1 diabetes since 1999. A football enthusiast, Chris has played at a semi-professional level and represented Wales internationally in Futsal. His personal experiences inspired him to establish TDFC as a supportive network for individuals living with diabetes to connect, share advice, and enjoy football together.
