The Caxton Players (Caxton Theatre) started in 1943 and has supported the local community with numerous theatre shows ever since. The theatre produces a minimum of 8 main shows per year, smaller Studio productions and also hosts numerous events throughout the year to support other artists and to build the society’s profile.

The Caxton Theatre has been producing shows and supporting theatre and arts since 1943. We are the only dedicated theatre in Grimsby, NE Lincolnshire.
The theatre produces a least 8 shows per year, plus supports other local creatives and encourages young people in to arts and theatre.
The covid-19 pandemic closed down the theatre for most of 2020 and 2021 and this has a massive impact on finances, plus audience share has not yet returned to pre-pandemic levels. These losses have had a massive impact on the finances of the theatre and raising energy costs are not helping either.
To ensure the theatre evolves and continues for another 80 years we need as much support as possible. This comes from people coming to see the shows, spreading the word and fundraising as much as possible.
