The Boat Shed Warm Bank

Aim: The Boat Shed Warm Bank is being set up to support the most vulnerable members of our community this winter.
The Boat Shed is the home of the Boaty Theatre Company, we are open 7 days a week and offer a range of arts-based groups that members of the community of all ages and backgrounds can access.
As a small charity, we work with people who will find this winter hard on all fronts, and although on the surface we are a theatre company, we see our role within the community as more than simply entertaining. For this reason, our team and trustees are launching The Boat Shed Warm Bank.
Our building will be warm this winter regardless of the energy crisis and so as a result we want to open the doors and welcome people in to stay warm, read a book, have a chat and a cup of tea, and maybe even have a warm meal. There are plenty of things to do at the boat shed and we hope that by building a community around the warm bank, we can also build the community of Ellesmere Port to be a warm and welcoming place for all.
We understand that the cost of living crisis is a major worry for lots of people, and charities are no different. The money raised from this appeal will help us to support vulnerable members of our community and to help with the rising costs of running a small charity in the current climate.
