  • Hello & welcome to our crowdfunder. I am the proud LandLady of The Blacksmiths Arms, in Kingsley Holt, Staffordshire Moorlands.

Last year our beloved little local pub went viral for our tribute to our fallen heroes for Remembrance Day. This year we changed our tribute, and have been in the local news. BUT the current situation is overshadowing this, and put a stopper to us being able to fundraise for an armed forces charity due to restrictions we faced, and on Saturday being told my pub had to close for 4 weeks. So we have decided upon a challenge.

The Blacksmiths Girls would like to attempt to raise £500 to donate to The Lee Rigby Foundation. More below on what they do... So our challenge is - for the whole of this new ‘Lockdown’ starting on Thursday 5th of November and ending on December 1st we will be walking 4 miles a day around the villages Kingsley Holt & Kingsley, starting from The Blacksmiths Arms, and finishing at The Blacksmiths, equalling around 108 miles total. It wouldn’t be us if we didn’t give something back, so for the last day (December 1st) whom ever makes the highest donation gets to choose our fancy dress for the last walk. (Remember it will be cold, please be kind to us, not underwear etc, something warm would be nice). We will be going live and taking photos each day, updating everyone on our progress. If you see us, please beep or wave and give us some moral support and encouragement. All current government guidelines will be adhered to of course. Any donation will be gratefully received.

The Lee Rigby Foundation -

We attempt to provide a support network for bereaved military families, veterans families and serving military families and be inclusive of recent terrorist actions.

We have found by experience that respite therapy in whatever form works for many families but must remember to cater for families including children so for therapy to work, facilities need to have entertainment.

Got an idea like this?

Over £200 million has been raised from our crowd to support the projects they love! Plus tens of millions more unlocked by our partners.
