4At The Basement Door, we provide training for young people as backstage crew in lighting, on the sound desk and front of house and to young musicians, giving them a chance to perform on stage and hone their craft. Together we put on amazing gig nights showcasing incredible young talent both on and off the stage all in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment.
We’ve helped hundreds of young people fulfil their potential through the power of music, giving them opportunities they can’t find anywhere else. Due to UK licensing laws, under 18’s often can’t play in pubs and clubs. We‘re solving that with our gig nights, supporting a pipeline of UK music and industry talent that would otherwise be lost. Many have gone on to further study and achieve careers in the music industry because of the confidence and experience they gained at The Basement Door. We want to keep creating those opportunities.
Like all charities, we rely heavily on donations and funding to continue our work. We need to raise 35K to secure the future of The Basement Door.
Your donation will help us to:
Continue putting on gigs, giving a platform for more young people to learn and perform.
Continue more training for young people looking to understand more about backstage and event management.
Provide more help for young people’s mental health and happiness, giving them a place to express themselves.
Provide more opportunities to help young people grow into young adults and meet like-minded people in a safe, drug-free, supportive environment.
Continue to support the UK’s grassroots music scene by helping to provide a pipeline that supports the UK music industry.
