We are a charitable organization set in the West Coast of Scotland on Loch Long in a village called Ardentinny. We do activity weeks mainly for pupils in primary schools P6/P7. We also provide the center to Musical/Drama groups to stay and practice, also to Secondary schools for study weekends they can all do activities to break up their time at the center
They come to the Centre and stay for a few nights, and learn a different activity every day, they learn to communicate with each other in team building exercises, and also conquer fears doing climbing and abseiling, or kayaking plus many more things. We feed them, keep them warm and provide all the waterproof equipment for the tasks.
We have 29 dorms which sleep between 4 to 6 children a dorm, these dorms are needing updating and renovating, but unfortunately due to Covid our Centre really struggled and we are still finding it hard to get these jobs done due to lack of funding.
The Centre doesn't get any financial help from anyone apart from the odd donation which we are so grateful for.
We would like to re-paint, re-carpet, re-curtain our dorms and do any other jobs that need doing like replacing the current broken furniture for example wardrobes and chests of drawers, we would like to do many other things but making the rooms where the children sleep a little nicer would be such a great help, we appreciate that everyone is struggling, but every little bit would help us to make the children's stay more pleasant.
We have a lot of children that come to the Centre from deprived areas so making this a place to make memories to last a lifetime is what we are all about.
We would accept any kind of donations too, it doesn't have to be all money so if anyone out there will kindly donate the paint, carpets, curtains etc that would be great too just contact the Centre and we can have a chat. We have a couple of volunteers that come each week and work doing the odd jobs around the Centre for us.
We are also needing new helmets and waterproofs so any money after the upgrade to the rooms has been done will go to providing these, as we are a charity we want to provide all the items the children/adults need.
