We bring together members of the community from all walks in life for a collective musical experience. Our purpose is to provide a facility for any person to play, or learn to play a brass or percussion instrument to the best of their abilities and to pass on our knowledge and experience to the next generations of musicians to keep the tradition of brass bands alive in our community. We offer support from a group of volunteers who give their time freely on either a one-to-one basis or as part of a group.

2The 1st Old Boys Silver Band and Youth Band are a registered charity, based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Our purpose is to provide a facility for any person to play, or learn to play a brass or percussion instrument to the best of their abilities and to pass on our knowledge and experience to the next generations of musicians to keep the tradition of brass bands alive in our community. We offer support from a group of volunteers who give their time freely on either a one-to-one basis or as part of a group.
During the Covid 19 pandemic we were unable to perform and therefore unable to earn the essential funds needed to keep the charity afloat. At present we are unable to facilitate our youth band - which is a tragedy for those young musicians - and we desperately need to find new premises which are safe, warm and suitable for us to me.
