Aim: Wivey Pool are in need of a new pool house and swimmers are joining together to fundraise.

Following Mia's chronic fatigue diagnosis she needed to find a way to build up her strength in a way that wouldn't add to the pain she was suffering with.

Since she used to love swimming she decided to see if it would help and hasn't regretted it.

Last year, she couldn't stand for long amounts of time, was continuously in pain and had to defer college for a year.

Last summer she managed to build up her swimming to sometimes twice a week and her energy levels have improved considerably.  There are still days when she finds everything a struggle and most days she is still in pain but swimming has really helped her to manage her symptoms, ease the discomfort and given her a real confidence boost.

Wivey Pool has been at the heart of the community since 1927, and is one of the oldest pools in Somerset, providing a cherished outdoor space for swimmers of all ages. As they near their 100th anniversary, they’re committed to securing its future for generations to come. Help us Keep Wivey Swimming by donating – every contribution, big or small, makes a difference!

Mia is aiming to swim 19.27 miles between 1st June and 31st August.  (approximately 1130 lengths).  This will be an amazing achievement - at the beginning of 2024 she struggled to walk down the garden and wouldn't have been able to swim a single length let alone 1130.
