In September I will be completing the Thames Bridges Trek 25km walk to not only raise money for Flying Start, but also to challenge myself. The walk heads East through the heart of the Capital, from Putney Bridge to beyond Tower Bridge – and each of the historic 16 crossings has a story to tell.
I have never walked 25km before and will be doing lots of walking in preparation, with the hope that friends and family will accompany me on some of them, providing motivation and encouragement. My step count will be amazing!
Having worked at British Airways since 2016, I've seen the difference the donations to Flying Start make and I am excited for the opportunity to fund raise and take part in this challenge with 29 colleagues from across the business.
Flying Start is the global charity partnership between British Airways and Comic Relief. Together, they help people in the UK and around the world to have the best possible start in life and the change to have a brighter future.
Since the partnership began in 2010, British Airways customers and colleagues have raised over £28m, an incredible amount to be immensely proud of.
By donating, you'll be part of something amazing, helping to put food on plates and roofs over heads, keep little ones safe and help support families affected by conflict and climate change.
- £1 could buy fruit and a healthy snack for a child in the UK.
- £10 could provide a child with a disability in Kenya with essential equipment so they can go to school.
- £20 could help provide healthcare for a year for a child in India, providing critical medical supplies to communities without access to medical facilities.
I am very grateful for any and all support you can offer, and if you cannot donate (or even if you can) then words of encouragement or company on a walk will also be appreciated :)
