The General Election is finally here!
We have great Green Party candidates selected and ready to campaign for Real Hope, Real Change.
But it's not that easy. We are a small local party with no income. In order to even be on your ballot paper, we have had to pay a £500 deposit per candidate. We have far fewer leaflets than the large parties, but, even so, the cost for producing them is getting close to £2000
People need the opportunity to vote Green because our country is facing multiple crises - in the NHS, cost of living, housing, and of course in our climate and environment. There is very little difference between what we are being offered by the Tory and Labour parties at a time when change is clearly needed. The Green Party have bold new plans in all policy areas and plans to pay for this by increasing taxation of the wealthiest 1% and the biggest polluters as well as introducing a carbon tax
The Green Party does politics differently. please help if you can.
Your donation can have a triple impact
1. Your donation gets a Green candidate for Parliament able to challenge the old parties.
2. By helping our candidates to stand, your donation enables all the votes they receive to translate into government funding for the Green MPs elected elsewhere (at the last election this was £42.82 per 200 votes, resulting in hundreds of thousands of pounds to help Caroline Lucas's work in parliament!)
3. If our candidates retain their deposit, those funds come back and can be spent by the Green Party again, so we can keep building strength both locally and nationally!
