Aim: Hello! We are looking to raise extra money for our first ever Pride event in Teesdale!
It all started when several local organisations identified that children, young people and families living in rural areas of County Durham don't get the same chances to access Pride events, as people living in towns and cities. Sometimes it is hard for people to find others like them and this can be isolating, and in the worst cases damaging or even abusive.
After a couple of small creative sessions to identify the need for more events for the LGBTQ+ communities locally we have all come together and are now working towards our first Pop Up Pride!
All money raised will be put towards the event to make sure it is accessible to all that need it.
Any donation however small will help us not only create a special day it will help people feel less isolated, help build new friendships and help us break down barriers and prejudices that can exist.
